Job Description: The incumbent will be responsible for providing an educational atmosphere that promotes and fosters organizations/participants reaching their full potential in practical hands-on instruction. Participate in professional development opportunities as they pertain to education and instructional delivery will be required.
Other performance measures: Successful performance of the job requires creativity, initiative, and effective problem solving.
The candidate must work constructively with faculty, staff, and university officials to accomplish essential job functions. Must use tact and diplomacy when engaging in crucial conversations, follow school dress code, and follow proper attendance or leave policies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work with Sr. Director to assess training needs of organization/participants
- Identify training programs to address competency/skills gaps
- Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs
- Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, and/or coaching
- Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness
- Track and report on training outcomes
- Provide feedback to program participants and management
- Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology
- Complete all mandatory training as required.

Instructor requirements will vary on the specialty or each course offered. Appropriate degree, license or training certification will be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Teaching Competence Must be able to create lesson plans, content, presentations, ancillary materials, and assignments to effectively transform information to knowledge for students. Ability to assess student learning and progress. Knowledge of adult instructional and learning theory and principles. Knowledge of instructional design and learning management systems. Ability to develop coursework with various training methodologies. Ability to conduct competency assessment
Communication skills Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English and prepare complex reports on deadline; requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, alumni, advisory committee members, and the public, using tact, discretion, and independent judgment.
Computer skills Must be demonstrably proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), as well as email, internet, and learning management systems.
Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU brand with positivity and professionalism
Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior
Work will be performed in office and laboratory environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person and online, by telephone and via email.
Position may require work during evening and/or weekend hours
Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, talking, listening and computer usage
