Custodial Worker




Incumbent provides a full range of assigned cleaning duties in assigned/designated areas. Scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors. Keeps rest rooms in clean, orderly and sanitary condition. Keeps instrument shops, offices and public use areas clean and orderly. Performs laundry services as needed for facility. Stores stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify for this position you must meet the following screen-out element: Ability to do the work without more than normal supervision. You may meet this requirement if you have experience and/or training to perform routine janitorial and custodial work such as sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; washing windows and walls; dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures; use hand tools; and emptying waste cans. Work is done by hand or with powered equipment such as power scrubbers and buffers. This screen-out element is a critical self-assessment of the applicant's experience and is essential for satisfactory job performance. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the above, qualifications will also be determined by comparing your application to the responses on the Assessment Questionnaire against the guidelines found in the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations, WG-3566, series.
