SUMMARYResponsible for supervising and administering Food service for the Soboba Community, including Noli, Preschool and Tribal Functions. Also assist in the coordination of new ideas in food service, service training and product enhancement. Responsibilities also include mentoring, and evaluating staff, interviewing, and training employees; assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with department policies with guidance and support from Noli and Preschool Administration.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESApplies positive communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with Noli and Preschool Administration, at all times.* Assists the Noli and Preschool Administration in developing annual goals and objectives.* Works directly with Noli and Preschool Administration to learn all aspects of meal needs of students.* Responsible for proper maintenance of supplies in the Preschool Building Kitchen to ensure sufficient items are ordered as needed.* Responsible for ordering of product for use.* Assist with time-keeping and payroll while overseeing proper Kronos procedures.* Ensures overall professional appearance of all Preschool Building Kitchen area.* Inspects Preschool Building Kitchen to ensure that equipment and area meet Health Department standards.* Analyzes information concerning Preschool Building Kitchen operation such as daily Food output, and labor costs to prepare budget and to maintain cost control of operations.* Responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment necessary to the outlet areas.* Ensures excellent communication between all other departments.* Ensures coordination of special functions of Tribal Administration.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE* High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.* Combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.* 2 years' experience in food preparation and service required.* 2-3 years' experience in a Management/Supervisory capacity preferredQUALIFICATIONS* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily* Ability to deal effectively with all staff members exercising tact, diplomacy and patience at all times.* Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to promote positive and professional image.* Knowledge of proper methods of preparing foods in large quantities and skillful at meal preparation* Basic knowledge of Microsoft products (i.e. email, word and excel)REQUIRED* All applicants are required to complete the pre-screen Background Clearance and Drug Testing* Native American preferable and an Equal Opportunity Employer 25 U.S.C.S. 472 ET.
