Store locations are in Miami, OK, Duncan, OK, Fort Worth (Hulen), TX and Justin, TX.General SummaryThe primary responsibilities of our Paint Specialist is to maintain outstanding customer service, help create the best paint department experience possible, generate sales, merchandise product, and support the store management team. Department managers are tasked with additional and specialized duties that include giving color and paint product selection advice, receiving product, overseeing the paint department and otherwise extending our customer first philosophy to be the most helpful hardware store possible.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.Customer ServiceProvide positive representation of store.Ensure each customer receives outstanding service.Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.Provide a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.Ensure all calls and pages are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.Handle customer complaints. Work to resolve problems with the customer and have store's best interest taken into consideration.Possess excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.Store OperationsEnsure a positive, professional and safe work environment for all associates.Assist the "general operations" of the entire store.Participate in weekly staff meetings.Communicate issues with General Manager.Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise areas.Ensure that weekly price changes and label updates are completed timely and accurately.Maintain the paint counter and aisles on a daily basis.Offer color matching expertise and paint product selection advice.Ensure that the paint department is performing to the expectations of the Store Manager/Owner.Aid customers in locating merchandising in store, on acehardware.com, as well as processing special orders.Answer customers' questions and provide information on procedures and policies.Encourage customers to have an Ace Rewards card..Perform all other duties as assigned.Inventory & MerchandisingMaintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.Assist to ensure receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise adheres to best practices and Standard Operating Procedures.Responsible for maintenance of back stock levels.Assist to ensure that cycle counts and negative on hand reports are completed timely and accurately.Assist in ordering and maintaining desirable product inventory levels to ensure in-stocks and store profitability.Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store.Assist to ensure all signage is current in the store.Assist in presenting a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and promotional and incremental merchandising.Assist in the training and development of associates.Aware of and able to respond to safety issues.LeadershipLead by example; be approachable by all associates and customers.Participate in store meetings.Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to the General Manager for follow up.Prepare and challenge yourself for future advancement.Other Essential RequirementsEducationHigh School or GED equivalent. ExperiencePaint store experience, color matching, sales and marketing experience with retail programs. Establishing relationships and working with customers. Knowledge of retail computer systems.A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi task.Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.Previous retail department management experience preferred. Hardware experience preferred.Physical DemandsStanding, walking, lifting (up to 50lbs) and climbing.
