Major Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct care as needed to clients with developmental disabilities
  2. Maintain timely written documentation of client progress
  3. Participate in recreational activities and outings with clients
  4. Assist clients with daily chores
  5. Participate in all routine residence maintenance as is appropriate within normal context of home ownership
  6. Provide financial, life skills, and Activities of Daily Life education
  7. Maintain all company provided trainings and certifications (CPR/First Aid/PMT)
  8. Medication management as necessary
  9. Adhere to all agency policies
  10. Maintain client confidentiality
  11. Some lifting may be required
  12. Other duties as may be assigned
  13. Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position.

The Direct Support Professional/Child and Adolescent Direct Support Professional works under the supervision of the Program Director in the Division of Community Services.

  1. High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
  2. Knowledge and experience working with children, adolescents and/or adults with developmental disabilities preferred
  3. Demonstrate a high level of verbal and written communication
  4. Demonstrate leadership skills including: effective problem solving, planning, organizing
  5. Valid CT driver's license and insurance
