We strive to help people find good jobs in one of our Goodwill retail or donation centers, or outside Goodwill with another employer. Our employment specialists will do their best to put you to work in one of our locations, or help you find employment through the Goodwill Job Connection Program.

About The Job:

Goodwill Industries seeks full time Employment Specialist for our Job Connection department in The Dalles

-Employment Specialists are responsible for helping in the job search of individuals with disabilities or other vocationally disadvantaging conditions.
-Provide job search employment services as-needed.
-Maintain communications and rapport with the business community and referral sources.

Essential Functions:
* Develop community work sites for assigned programs.
* Provide program participants with job leads and skill training information.
* Maintain accurate and timely case documentation.
* Monitor and provide documentation to ensure accurate data entry information.
* Maintain frequent communication with program participants regarding job search progress.
* Participate in staff meetings and staff training.

  • Direct sales and marketing experience required
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills, communication skills and be a self-starter.
  • Able to provide own transportation as required.
  • No record or disclosure of criminal conviction that indicates a tendency toward theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug manufacture or sale, moral turpitude, or predatory behavior or is otherwise in conflict with the functions listed on this job description. This includes passing a state-mandated, federally-conducted criminal background check.
  • Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
  • Must pass a drug screening test.
  • Must have command of the English language sufficient to communicate with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate upon request functional literacy and numeracy.
  • Must be able to perform essential functions of the job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must meet GICW quantitative and qualitative performance standards..

- This position is an exempt full time and we offer competitive benefits/retirement packages.
- Pay is DOE.
- Bi-Lingual is preferred.
