Perform all standard duties of a Mercy Security Officer, including (but not limited to) responding to requests for assistance; securing areas and property; answering phone calls; responding to threats in accordance with training levels; performing investigations as directed; providing assistance in response to customer requests; patrolling hospital buidlings, parking areas, grounds; checking and securing entrances and areas, notifying responsible department manager regarding unlocked entrances; documenting all activities within Report Exec. Participate in Emergency Management training, drills, and actual events. May be assigned role of Armorer, Training Officer, or other specialty function when needed. Carrying advanced tools upon successful completion of training courses through Certificate Level 495.
Because you're committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure: Oklahoma Security Officer License
Experience: Health Care Security Officer; Law Enforcement; Corrections; Military Police Coworkers in this position will be required to complete through Certificate level 495 training, and have started Mercy Advanced Formation training, within 12 months.
Certifications: IAHSS Certification course At locations where advanced tools are not authorized, must have completed through Certificate Level 390, or equivalent. Enrolled in Advanced Formation training within 12 months of promotion to position. At locations where advanced tools are authorized, must have completed through Certificate Level 495 or equivalent. Enrolled in Advanced Formation training within 12 months of promotion to position. PRN / Contract coworkers are expected to complete same level of training as regular Mercy coworkers. Courses completed externally may be accepted in lieu of Mercy Certificate training, provided that the training modules are f the same material (see Mercy Security Training Crosswalk). The following Certificate classes may not be substituted and must be completed by the coworker: - Level 200 - Mercy Use of Force Continuum - Level 330 - Legal and CIrcumstantial Education. Basic life support (BLS) training should be completed within 90 days of hire and kept current.
Preferred Education: Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or ther related fields
