(P6123- 3.2 & 3.3)Assignment Responsibilities* Makes enrollment appointment with each parent to complete eligibility forms to meet funding source requirements of the State Department of Education Child Development Division and the Child Care Food Program.* Reviews, proofs and approves childcare applications and forms for accuracy, completeness and eligibility according to State Department of Education guidelines, while maintaining confidentiality.* Communicates with customers, employees, and other individuals to disseminate or explain information; and provides children's center program information and assistance in person or on the telephone.* Receives and screens parents, students, visitors at the children's center.* Establishes and maintains a variety of records, logs and files related to assigned functions; compiles, copies, sorts, and files records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities; maintains file for each child to meet the State Department of Education and Child Care Food Program requirements; computes, records, and proofreads data and other information; and reviews files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.* Prepares monthly reports for District and external agencies; and prepares and types reports, memoranda, correspondence, requisitions, work orders, time sheets, and other documents.* Completes work schedules and revisions for employees and arranges appointments for staff and students; processes absence reports for all staff; and evaluates and processes childcare schedule changes for parents/students.* Tracks children enrollment and attendance numbers to ensure compliance with ratios set by licensing agencies.* Answers telephone, responds to requests, delivers messages, and runs errands; operates office machines, such as photocopier, telephone, and personal computers; duplicates and distributes materials as appropriate; processes and posts outgoing mail and distributes mail, packages, and other materials; completes and mails child care invoices; and orders materials and supplies.* Oversees and trains student clerical assistants as required.* Performs related duties as required.Work Year N/A Work ScheduleNOTE: Short-term temporary employees shall not be employed for more than 135 days, or 960 hours, whichever is reached first, in any fiscal year. (P6123- 3.2 & 3.3)Total Hrs per Week/Day Special Requirements Minimum QualificationsEXPERIENCE: Two years of general clerical experience including one year that is equivalent to Clerk II with the Los Rios District.EDUCATION: College level business and clerical course work is desirable. NOTE: One year of college level business and clerical course work may be substituted for one year of the required experience.Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.(Experience Requirement: One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at a maximum of 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement.
