Department Information, Job Summary and Essential Job FunctionsNOTE: The normal starting salary for this position is $15.50/hr. A higher hourly rate may be considered, dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:This position will perform work of a technical nature which includes assisting Park Maintenance spray crews with fertilizing and spraying herbicides in City parks and using a boom mower to clear vegetation from roadsides.JOB SUMMARY:This position is primarily responsible for performing work of a technical nature that varies depending on the program to which assigned. The position uses subject matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments that may consist of numerous steps that vary in nature and sequence. Licenses, certifications, and/or relevant experience and education in the assigned technical field are typically required prior to assuming this position. Examples of duties may include: working independently to read water meters for utility billing; driving/operating/transporting materials and equipment; performing herbicides and/or pesticides application; driving, operating, and removing, pruning, maintaining and preparing trees for relocation; providing technical assistance or performing technical support functions.Other NotesNOTE: This position performs duties that may require local travel; therefore a valid driver license is required.NOTE: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application for part-time/seasonal employment and must pass a post-offer drug test and health screen as administered by the City of Oklahoma City.NOTE: City employees are required to receive pay electronically, either via direct deposit or paycard.NOTE TO FORMER EMPLOYEES: To participate in any selection process, former employees must be eligible for rehire.
