RegularLocation: Washington D.C. or New York, NYPosition Summary:Host daily contemporary/smooth jazz music show that is informative, entertaining and incorporates music, culture and lifestyle appropriate content. Partners with other hosts, Program Director and Vice President of Music Programming to create engaging content, increase listenership and enhance subscriber satisfaction.Duties and Responsibilities:* Host dynamic, informative and entertaining contemporary jazz music program* Be knowledgeable on contemporary jazz music, best practices for announcing and audience building with the ability to incorporate format appropriate pop culture topics and news* Be prepared daily by reviewing various media sources including web sites, blogs, podcasts, magazines, newspapers and message boards each day.* Promote the show, the channel, related channels and the company positively on and off the air to maximize the growth of subscribers and listeners.* Meet with Program Director on a regular basis to review on-air performance and establish on-going goals for the show and the channel.* Conduct superior studio interviews, including via ISDN connections when necessary.* Represent the company as a talent on occasional remote broadcasts and outside events.* Actively participate in channel social media activities* Performs other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities:* None.Minimum Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience.* Minimum 3 years of experience required in a major radio marketRequirements and General Skills:* Excellent communicator with strong on-air presence, presenting a genuine, informed and likable personality with the ability to create topical breaks that are clear and concise.* Strong interest in current events and contemporary jazz culture, as related to assigned channels/programs.* Significant social networking skills.* Ability to execute ideas.* Highly detail oriented.* Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.* Well-developed interpersonal skills and communication skills; ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.* Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals; must have strong guest interviewing skills.* Must have legal right to work in the U.S.Technical Skills:* Thorough knowledge of digital audio recording and editing software.* Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).As an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status.The requirements and duties described above may be modified or waived by the Company in its sole discretion without notice.
