GENERAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANThis full time non-exempt position, under the supervision of the Site Administrator is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Primary responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical (HVAC), plumbing, and other general construction needs.A working knowledge of:* Demonstrated technical skills required for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general carpenter skills.* Knowledgeable in building codes, rules/regulations, and compliance with OSHA and other safety requirements.Essential Functions:* Demonstrate advanced skills in repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining building components and systems.* Experience in conducting preventive maintenance checks and document results of inspections.* Able to perform routine maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.* Install and repair electrical, HVAC, plumbing or other building service equipment* Perform general maintenance and repair of buildings -patches walls, repairs doors/ locks, and paints as necessary.* Complete Work Orders in a timely manner by reporting daily reports of service and/or maintenance needs.* Ensure tools are secured and monitored.* Interact with vendors, order parts, and maintain inventory.* Participate in mandatory training and staff development.* Maintain clearance through contracting agencies.* Required to respond to emergencies after hours as needed.* Meet physical requirements and able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.* Communicate effectively orally and in writing.* Follow instructions and complete multiple tasks properly and timely.* Handle a flexible work schedule, including overtime.Academic and work experience:This position requires 4 years of experience in facilities or construction trade and journeyman level rating in at least one major category: i.e., general construction, electrical, mechanical (HVAC), and plumbing. Relative working experience is also essential. Must have own tools.
