Job Summary: HVACR technicians install, operate, maintain, perform diagnostics and repair of all aspects of various heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and energy management systems. Is proficient in power plant operations of steam, hot water, chilled water, building automations and pneumatic systems. Monitors, maintains and repairs components of life safety systems such as smoke and fire dampers. Performs maintenance and repair tasks as directed by Engineering and requested by other departments. Minimum Requirements: Ability to perform other trade skills typically associated with plumbing, electrical and plant operation systems. Plant operations includes boilers, chillers, cooling towers and gases Preferred Qualifications: An associates degree in HVACR is preferred. Qualifying experience will include knowledge of equipment operation, electrical components, print interpretation, layout, and repair practices and systems design. An Associate degree in a directly related technical program or teaching experience in a related technology may substitute for up to two years of the required experience. EPA refrigerant systems certifications are required along with the ability to utilize computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
