Linden company has a temp to hire opening for an extrusion operator 1130pm-730am.
This position is responsible for assisting Extruder Foremen to manufacture plastic profiles and other secondary operations using established standards and practices under close supervision.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Assists Extruder Foremen in extruding thermoplastic and other secondary operations.
Measures extruded articles with calipers, gauges, fixtures and cuts to specified lengths.
Feeds scrap materials into grinders to grind for reprocessing.
May mix thermoplastic materials and pigments according to formula for extrusion feeding machines.
May load materials into hopper.
Transports raw materials and finished goods.
Pack completed product after it has been inspected. Seal cartons and place production labels on them. Load them to appropriate area.
Count parts and pack them in boxes. Scan boxes and put labels.
Determine if parts meet specifications. If not, consult Foreman or Quality Supervisor.
If part is determined to be bad, Operator should chop the parts until the problem is resolved.
When problems cannot be resolved, Operator should note the carton number where the problem occurs and ensure that the Foreman does a final check.
At shift change, responsible for communicating to the Operator on the next shift:
The number of parts in the box
Any problems or relevant information
Assemble cartons on specific lines.
Blow down saw as needed.
Fulfill secondary operations as needed.
Wear all necessary safety production gear.
Performs routine housekeeping functions on machine and in work area.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; bend; crouch; reach; kneel, crawl, use hands & fingers; talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and push material with varying weights of 40-90 pounds (need to look at it). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ambient temperature can be as high as 110 degrees F during summer months.
Work standing up for 8 hours with two breaks of 10 and 30 minutes.
Climbing steps every half an hour.
Being able to bend repeatedly all the way to the floor and lift 10lbs.
Being able to carry 20 lbs. or more at waist level.
Being able to lift 20 lbs. or more above shoulder level.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually high. Must be compliant with proper attire/uniforms (i.e., shoe and eye protection) and required to wear ear plugs.
