Overview / Job SummaryAleris is a global leader in the manufacture and sale of aluminum rolled products, with approximately 14 facilities in three geographically aligned business units in North America, Europe and China. We serve a variety of end-use industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, building and construction, transportation, packaging, and consumer goods.Our North America division is seeking to add a talented Maintenance Inventory Coordinator to its team at our Clayton, NJ facility. The purpose of this role is to perform ongoing manual and detailed clerical work involving receiving, storing, stocking and inventory of items to optimize stock levels, reduce inventory and remove obsolete items in a plant storeroom. This role will also assist the Maintenance Team in a manufacturing environment with parts ordering for upcoming jobs and creation of job kits. This role will be responsible for updating and maintaining the electronic database of all parts at the facility.Pay and BenefitsAleris offers competitive compensation and benefit programs which include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k w/company match, and quarterly bonus program opportunity.Responsibilities Include* Maintains a safe working environment by complying with Aleris HSE standards and policies, all state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures.* Champion the Aleris values; Safety, Integrity, Customer Focus, Ownership, Excellence, and Teamwork.* Instrumental in conversion to new inventory storeroom.* Responsible for development and documentation of new inventory/storeroom procedures required for the new inventory software.* Participates in the development of a new storeroom layout.* Receives and unpacks incoming parts orders, checking against items listed on requisitions, invoices or other order forms to ensure accuracy and quality.* Responsible for internal parts movement including pick-up, and delivery of supplies and/or materials, including hazardous chemicals. Also responsible for all off-site shipments including inspection, packaging and shipping paperwork.* Responsible for basic assembly, adjustments and/or repairs of parts.* Maintains all parts inventory for the Maintenance group. This includes conducting inventory cycle counts, weigh/mark parts with identifiers, monitors min/max levels and orders additional amounts when needed.* Enters all orders for parts/equipment into the ERP and follows all required approvals.* Researches, sources and analyzes part specifications to ensure it meets requirements. Works with Maintenance team to review requirements and recommendations.* Places purchase orders for needed parts and equipment through companies ERP system.* Communicates with suppliers, both verbally and in writing, on matters relating to supplies.* Completes all required paperwork on a timely basis, maintains active files and records history, and prepares necessary reports.* Lead housekeeping efforts within area of responsibility.* Participates on continuous improvement teams and initiatives.* Works within the parameters created by the ISO9001:2015 quality system* Provides support as required to the operation by performing other duties and projects as requested, directed, or assigned by the Maintenance & Engineering Manager.Required Qualifications* High school diploma or GED equivalent.* 1+ years' experience in a mechanical/electrical setting, parts supplier, manufacturing or other related machining industry.* Strong communication skills needed, including demonstrated effective electronic communication.* Strong organization and time management skills.* Computer literacy and ability to learn new software packages quickly and apply knowledge to daily tasks and projects, including the Microsoft Office Suite.* Possess a strong customer orientation.* Ability to bring together appropriate people and information to make timely, effective decisions.Preferred:* Experience working in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting.* Experience with ERP/CMMS systemsAleris is an equal opportunity employer and supports diversity in the workplace.
