ResponsibilitiesSummaryThe Patient Service Representative represents Sharp Rees-Stealy by providing patients with appointments, information and other operational support services for assigneddepartment. Provides a high level of customer service in a manner consistent with our Mission and Goals. Responsible for patient registration, demographic and insurance updates. Confirms insurance eligibility and obtains authorizations for service. Works with patients to resolve billing and insurance related issues.The Sharp Rees-Stealy Department of GI consists of 11 providers on our staff to meet the needs of our patients and is located at one Sharp Rees-Stealy medical clinic in San Diego (Genesee).Sharp Rees-Stealy's mission is to improve the health of its community through a caring partnership of patients, physicians and employees. Its goal is to offer quality services that set community standards and exceed expectations in a caring, convenient, affordable and accessible manner.Sharp Rees-Stealy has been serving the health care needs of San Diegans since 1923 when doctors Clarence Rees and Clair Stealy formed San Diego's first multispecialty medical group practice. Today, Sharp Rees-Stealy has 22 locations (and still growing) and over 500 primary care doctors and specialists representing virtually every field of medicine.LocationThis position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County.HoursPer diem: 8:30am to 5:30pm; includes weekends as needed.Required Skills and Qualifications* Medical office experience required with a strong emphasis in customer service, computer skills, and phones or completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program.* High school diploma or equivalent certification.* Medical Terminology required.Preferred Skills and Qualifications* One year clinical experience preferred in outpatient clinic.* Bilingual (English/Spanish).* Completion of a medical receptionist or equivalent training program preferred.Physical requirements of position may be discussed during interview.Sharp HealthCare is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
