Lemon Poppy Kitchen is a popular breakfast and lunch spot in Glassell Park. We ve been in business for seven years and are looking to add motivated and responsible people to our back of house team. We are proud to cook everything from scratch and to provide a delicious experience to our guests.
The restaurant is currently seeking BRUNCH & DAYTIME LINE COOKS who are highly energetic, self-motivated and have a keen attention to detail. Our ideal new team member will be someone who knows how to work independently as well as part of a team.
Minimum 1 year experience
Must have Food Handlers Certification
Knowledge of BREAKFAST food a MUST!!!!!
Availability to work mornings, daytimes and weekends
Able to focus and multi-task and have attention to detail
Must be able to follow rules and regulations
Must be able to follow recipes from scratch
Must be clean and organized
Accurately and efficiently cook eggs, proteins and vegetables, and other food products; as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all menu item plates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares a variety of eggs, proteins and vegetables and other food items for cooking in a variety of kitchen equipment.
Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Preps, stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service
Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills saut burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
Prepares item for grilling, frying, saut ing or other cooking methods by portioning, prepping
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
Follow sanitation guidelines set forth by Health Department
Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
Attends all scheduled employee meetings.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Chef or manager-on-duty.
Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
A minimum of one year in a food preparation/cooking position
Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
Valid Food Handler s permit on file, or to be obtained within 21 days.

We offer a set schedule! Work schedule will be set, with requests to pick up additional shifts here or there

Demonstrate teamwork in all areas of the restaurant
Work with a positive attitude in all types of situations
Follow safety and sanitation rules and laws at all times
Must be able to stand and work effectively for 8-10 hrs
Must be able to lift pots, pans, etc., up to 50 pounds in weight.
