Position Purpose/Summary: The Item Processing ATM Balancing Clerk will perform accurate verification of individual deposits made through Visions ATMs and daily balancing of assigned general ledgers in accordance with Credit Union procedures. Responsible for accurate and timely processing of all incoming cash letter files, ensure all ATM research items and adjustments are appropriately processed, and that daily ACH transactions are accurately balanced. Provides support and direction on daily ATM operational processes and communicates concerns to management and vendors as needed to ensure appropriate action is taken. Additional duties include providing support to staff for daily processing of cash and check deposits received through ATMs and review of remotely deposited checks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All duties and responsibilities align with Visions Federal Credit Union and are subject to reform at-will of the company. Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs required daily balancing, research, and reconciling of ATM cash. Provides support to branch staff and coordinates closeout and replenishment frequency with Branch and Finance staff.

  • Communicates directly with vendors to resolve ATM balancing differences, request appropriate reports, and follow up on outstanding items.

  • Responsible for the accurate verification of individual deposits made through Visions ATMs as well as ATM total deposit verification.

  • Balances assigned general leaders daily in accordance with instructions from the Item Processing Manager and guidance by the Item Processing Coordinator.

  • Keeps management abreast of problem areas regrading balancing, adjustments, and member concerns.

  • Responsible for timely research and adjustment of provisional credit general ledger and escalates balancing concerns to management.

  • Processes cash letter files from the Federal Reserve or other selected clearinghouses for Inclearings work.

  • Performs review of remotely deposited checks and processes ATM check deposit adjustments.

  • Performs daily ACH balancing of posted and unposted items. Researches differences and keeps management abreast of problem areas regarding balancing.

  • Provide back-up coverage to department in accordance with distributed back-up schedule and ensure back-up to position is sufficiently trained.

  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.

Requires minimum of bachelors degree, associates degree with a minimum of 1-year related experience, or minimum 3 years of related experience in accounting or finance.

Usual Work Environment/Equipment Used: This position operates in a professional office environment, with expectation to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, Microsoft Office, etc.
