Job Description

Glendive Medical Center is seeking a Ward Clerk to work at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home. This is a full time position, working Monday through Friday with some weekend and holiday commitments. The Ward Clerk is responsible in assisting the nursing department accomplish duties in a timely and efficient manner by maintaining medical records, transcribing orders, answering telephone-taking and relaying messages appropriately, greeting visitor and staff members and ordering supplies. This position will regularly contribute to clinical care of residents which may include intermittent direct care throughout each day as well as accepting partial or full shift assignments as a C.N.A. when census or training activities make this necessary. Qualified candidates must have basic computer and math skills.

* C.N.A. certification preferred; but the facility will provide C.N.A. training/certification post hire for the right candidate
* Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. and must be able to bend, kneel, stoop and stand throughout the day
* BLS certification within 6 months of hire
* One year experience as a CNA in long term care, preferred
* Three months clerical/ward clerk experience, desirable
