Position: Purchasing Clerk
Department: Storeroom Department
Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Planning, coordinating & directing the purchasing & storeroom functions for home meal replacement businesses
Implement necessary control systems & storeroom procedures to ensure effective product cost control.
Train & develop personnel to insure compliance to USDA guidelines & GMP s
Sourcing & negotiating with vendors to attain the lowest possible prices via Eatec bid function software
Monitor & control costs & insures the budgeted food costs are met
Responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the purchasing functions
Implement necessary systems and procedures to ensure effective product cost control.
Negotiating with vendors to attain the lowest possible prices.
Monitor and control cost to insure the budgeted food costs are met.
Facilitate uniform quality standards in food safety and sanitation through employee
Training and periodic kitchen inspection audits.
Any other duties assigned by the Purchasing Manager
College degree or equivalent knowledge
Minimum 2 years of related purchasing & inventory experience
Knowledge of inventory & ordering procedures. Both manual and computerized
Understanding of airline specifications & breakdown of menus
Knowledge of USDA & HACCP requirements
Knowledge of spreadsheets, menu costing and inventory/requisition software.
Must have proficient computer skills.
Desire experience using EATEC system.
