TITLE: Temporary Associate

REPORTS TO: General Manager, Assistant General Manager

STATUS: Part Time

WORK SCHEDULE: Flexibility in scheduling; early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays required.

SUMMARY:

The Temporary Associate is responsible for assisting with receiving and processing inbound and outbound freight, and merchandise replenishment & recovery. The individual in this role is responsible for completing assigned projects on the sales floor and/or in the stockroom. Team Members often work in multiple areas of the store during each shift; therefore flexibility is crucial. This team member must act with the A.C. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Load and unload merchandise and fixtures to/from trucks.
* Process freight and deliver to the sales floor.
* Responsible for assembling and disassembling store fixtures.
* Responsible for stocking merchandise and moving merchandise front and forward during recovery.
* Signing product displays and merchandise placement.
* Creating new labels as needed.
* Greets all customers with a friendly offer to help.
* May ring registers and process returns; ensure purchases are processed with speed and accuracy.
* May perform advanced transactions such as price adjustments, refunds and exchanges, as needed.
* Handle light janitorial duties such as sweeping, cleaning the restroom and break room and taking the garbage to the dumpster.
* Understand the definitions and methods of retail shrink and comply with all Loss Prevention policies.
* Comply with all A.C. Moore policies outlined in the Employment Handbook, including dress code and attendance, and company's Standard Operating Procedures.
* Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

* High School Diploma or GED preferred.
* Prior retail merchandising experience preferred.
* Must be flexible to possible schedule changes.
* Experience with small hand tools, pallet jacks and RF trackers a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighting up to 50lbs.
* Ability to bend, turn, twist, kneel and/or squat up to 75% a day.
* Must be able to move about the store and/or remain stationary, up to 8 hours per day.
* Repetitive movement of hands and arms.
* Ability to ascend and descend a ladder safely, preferred.
* Frequently communicates with customers and/or others.
