DescriptionThe majority of the Short Order Cook responsibilities involve customer service and cooking short-order items. The Short Order Cook performs a wide variety of duties relative to the handling, preparation, presentation and service of food. The Short Order Cook fulfills customers' orders within regulatory, HACCP and CARES guidelines, maintains cleanliness of cafeteria servery, and restocks grill area supplies.Responsibilities* Attends department meetings, monthly in-services, training classes, etc as assigned.* Anticipates and meets customer needs; takes appropriate steps to rectify issues.* Stocks and replenishes cafeteria items as needed (dispenser soda/CO2, frozen yogurt, soup, deli bar, grab n go cooler, hot food, etc); according to dept. standards.* Maintains cleanliness of cafeteria, servery, and tray return areas* Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment including cooking, hot-holding, refrigeration/freezer equipment, slicer, and utility carts.* Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude.* Prepares catering orders as assigned.* Prepares and serves daily menu cycle items for grill and deli station.* Making sandwiches,* Cleans and stocks area after each mealSchedule: Full-time, 40 hrs, Mon-Thurs: 5:30am - 2:00pm, Sun: 10:30am - 7pm* Please note public transportation does not service the hospital on Sunday, so alternate transportation is required.Grade: 110About Brigham and Women's Faulkner HospitalBrigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is a 171- bed non-profit, community teaching hospital located in Jamaica Plain directly across the street from the Arnold Arboretum.
