This is an H-2A job order for Kent and Auburn vegetable farms hiring Farmworker Supervisors for seasonal work 03/20/2020 to 12/20/2020. Housing will be provided for workers that live outside the commuting area or distance.JOB DESCRIPTION: Farmworker Supervisors will oversee the vegetable farm growing operations of the employer. They will directly supervise 4-8 individuals in row crop operations. They will be responsible for supervising day-to-day farming operations in their designated area including crop analysis and harvest forecast. Farmworker Supervisors will provide training for production standards and procedures, maintain harvest records and time sheets for workers, with the Farm Manager to ensure compliance will all safety, labor and food safety requirements. The Farmworker Supervisor is responsible to the Farm Manager for production rates and quality grading. Supervision will include, but is not limited to, oversight of tractor crews that seed crops, spray crops, transplant crops, and cultivate fields. In addition the Row Crop Supervisor will supervise crews that move and set up irrigation pipes and attend safety meetings, labor management gatherings, and all applicable meetings pertaining to operations. JOB REQUIREMENTS: ~ Minimum of 6 months experience in growing and harvesting vegetable row crops~ Are available to commit to work the entire length of the contract~ Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish~ Must be legally entitled to work in the United States~ Experience in hand harvested fresh vegetable quality control~ Able to lift up to 60 pounds as part of job duties~ Must be able physically perform the job requirements~ Have a valid driver's license and transportation to the job site SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS: ~ $16.08 per hour - Payroll will be weekly~ Tools, supplies and equipment will be provided by the employer at no cost to the employee~ Employer provided housing/kitchen facilities are available for employees who are unable to reasonably return to their place of residence the same day.~ Transportation costs to the job site for domestic workers from outside the local commuting distance of the job site will be reimbursed by the employer after 50% of the contract period.~ Transportation costs from the job site to the worker's home will be provided to those domestic workers that complete the entire contract period~ Employer guarantees to offer employment for the hourly equivalent of 3/4 or 75% of the workdays of the work contract beginning with the first day of work.~ Full employment description of employer benefits is available from the employer.
